An example of my preaching

“Listening to Ashton Stewart speak to the students at his alma mater recently, I saw him demonstrate exactly what we expect from our graduates. He combined a passion for the gospel of Christ, a responsible treatment of the inspired Scripture, and a personal commitment to ministering to God’s people. His message took us from enthusiasm to sympathy to conviction, all in a context of modeling for us what a committed servant-leader looks like. We are proud to have Ashton as an alumni of Central Christian College of the Bible and look forward to watching his ministry succeed in the years to come.”
-Dr. David Fincher (Academic Dean, Central Christian College of the Bible)
Ashton “delivered the message with great energy and passion. He also never swayed away from the bible, ensuring that his words were rooted and grounded in truth. I am very grateful for that. Many people commented on the timeliness of his message and how it truly spoke to their hearts. One mom has two children that just married last year: one in May, and one in July. She was geeked to hear him affirm what they have done in their own marriage consistently, which is pray together every day. I was also grateful that he wasn’t bound to his notes, reading off the page. Speakers are always more effective when they get out from behind the pulpit and engage with the audience, and he did just that.”
-Don Hodgson (Pastor, Warrenton Wesleyan Church)
“The primary positive that struck me about Ashton’s sermons was the effective use of narrative to draw in the students. They were stories that the Jr. High students found fun and were well-directed to the theme of the message. The messages were simple enough that a middle school student could both understand and take something away. I believe you also did a great job of ending both messages in ways that were poignant and challenging. Overall, I was very pleased with how things went and I if I do camp again you might happen to hear from me.”
-Kurt Smith (Jr. High Dean, High Hill Christian Camp)
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I have been preaching for seventeen years. My first sermon was delivered on Youth Sunday when I was 16 years old at my home church in Cadiz, Kentucky. I knew then that God had called and equipped me to influence people’s lives with the Gospel.
I attended and graduated from Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Christian Ministry. I served in youth ministry while in college influencing teenagers within a thriving student ministry in Braymer, Missouri. In 2007 I was asked to lead the Braymer Christian Church as their Senior Pastor. In my four years preaching and intentional leadership in Braymer, the church grew from 65 in attendance to an average weekly attendance of 150.
In 2011 the Lord led me to become the Senior Pastor for the Warrenton Christian Church. In my six years of leading the Church in Warrenton, the Lord led the elders and I to a very crystal clear vision that we were to be “a Church where broken people find hope and changed people impact our community.”
In April of 2017 God led our family to leave Missouri and into rural Indiana, and I began a ministry with the Cayuga Christian Church. This loving congregation of about 200 has made a significant impact on this region for many years. I cannot wait to see what this new chapter of ministry holds.
I have been happily married to my wife, Amber, for thirteen years. We have two daughters, one son, and together we make our home on an acre surrounded by bean fields in West Central Indiana. In my free time, I enjoy reading with a cup of coffee (preferably Starbucks Veranda blend), articulating my thoughts through words on a page, watching things grow in my garden, grilling marinated meat, celebrate the winningest college basketball program in America – the University of Kentucky, and loving on my family.
